Course Description
This training course provides a fundamental understanding of fiber optics plus the practical skills required to install and maintain fiber optic networks. It is a great class for those new to fiber as well as those looking to enhance their current skills. You’ll gain an understanding of fiber technology and disciplines through the instructor lecture that takes place the first part of the training course. Then you’ll develop fiber optic installation and maintenance expertise in the second part of the training course. Specific skills exercises include fiber and cable preparation, fusion and mechanical splicing, connectorization, cleaning and inspection, and OTDR and loss testing. You’ll work independently and a Light Brigade instructor will be on hand to answer questions and provide guidance.
What Do Participants Learn?
Giving the confidence to work with existing fiber components, and the skill set to troubleshoot and repair a fiber optic related discrepancy
Who Should Attend?
Anyone who designs, installs, tests, or maintains fiber optic communication systems for voice, video and data applications
