What is creative thinking? Sir Ken Robinson describes it as 'having ideas that add value'. It is becoming generally accepted that in these uncertain times, the ability to think in new and innovative ways is essential to not only survive but thrive when facing future challenges.
There is a well known saying, 'if you always do what you have always done, you will always get what you have always got'. There is an important addition to this and it is, 'if you always think what you have always thought….you will always do what you have always done'.
This course is for you if you want to find new methods of creating, discovering, and evaluating ideas that can truly add value to you, your team, and your organization.
Creativity is recognized as a key success driver for organizations and individuals. While some consider creativity an innate talent that one may or may not have, the modern prevalent thinking is that it is a skill which, given the right nurturing environment, can be developed and harnessed by anyone in any organization.
In this course, we analyze the conditions necessary to build such an environment. Through the use of examples from the worlds of business, art, and science and with practical methods such as brainstorming, mind mapping, and others, we give participants the instruments they need to transform their life, their environment, and their workplace.
This course uses a mix of interactive techniques which, in addition to brief presentations by the consultant, include self-awareness tests, exercises using newly learned creative techniques, games, lateral thinking exercises and puzzles, case studies, and video clips with extensive debriefs.
