Course Description
GIS technologies have the potential to solve space related problems of construction involving, integration of information, urban planning, and project site selection, soil studies, Hydrology and environmental studies.
In any construction project there is a large number of tasks and activities involved to it. The Construction Project Managers have a hard time monitoring the projects between site and office. The application of GIS in construction project management will allow construction managers and different people involved in project with different backgrounds to get the information about the progress of the project and support “Decision Making”.
This 5 day-training course will provide a practical hands-on approach to the effective GIS applications in the construction industry.
What Do Participants Learn?
At the end of this training seminar, you will learn to:
- Use the Geographic Information System (GIS) as a tool to solve various engineering problems involving the use of spatial data.
- Use GIS technology to solve problems involving creation and management of data, integration of information, visualization, E-commerce, and cost estimation to which most of the other construction management softwares are lacking.
- Have an up-to-date knowledge of real-world applications of GIS technology in the construction industry
- Apply theoretical skills to generate 3D views of buildings as well as to represent then schedule of construction within the GIS environment is also discussed.
