Eligibility
The IIBA® CBAP Training Course is ideal for senior analysts, business analysts with seven to ten years of experience, and project managers.
Pre-requisites
Learners need to possess an undergraduate degree or a high school diploma. Minimum of 7500 hours of work experience in the last 10 years, 900 hours of which should be in four out of the six BABOK® Guide Version 3 Knowledge areas. You need a minimum of 35 hours of Professional Development (PDs) in the past four years.

What is the difference between CBAP and CCBA?

The CBAP exam consists of scenario-based questions that require the applicant to apply their BABOK knowledge. While the CCBA examination consists primarily of factual and knowledge questions related to the techniques and tasks outlined in the BABOK.

What are the course prerequisites for CBAP?

Participants must study the BABOK® Guide version 3 and meet the following requirements:

  • Identify the purpose of each knowledge area and task.
  • Describe how the knowledge domains interact with one another.
  • Identify the output produced by each knowledge domain and task.
  • Show how the elements of a job contribute to the task's completion.
  • Describe each technique.

Do I need CCBA for CBAP?

The three certification levels are intended to serve as a guide for a Business Analyst career path.

You don't have to finish them in any particular order. For example, if you already have the necessary experience and qualifications for a CBAP®, you do not need to take the CCBA® first.

What are the requirements to take the CBAP exam?

To be eligible for the CBAP certification, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Minimum of 7500 hours of BA work experience in the last ten years aligned with the Guide to the Business Analysis Book of Knowledge (BABOK Guide) v3.
  • Minimum of 900 hours of experience working in four of the six BABOK Guide v3 knowledge areas, for a total of at least 3600 hours out of the required 7500 hours.
  • A minimum of 35 hours of Professional Development in the previous four years is required.
